Back in 1992, one could see some hard-plastic car-top boxes on the road, but the idea of a soft, bag-style roof top carrier had not been tried. Soft materials that were strong and durable enough to withstand the rigors of high-speed travel while exposed to all kinds of weather, were not available.
We developed the concept and manufactured the first commercially available soft car top carriers in 1992. These soft roof-mounted carriers were strong enough to hold luggage securely, and were sold through a number of chain stores under various retail names.
The carriers sold well over the years, but the cost of these rooftop carriers was still too high for many potential users.
